What should I expect from my first visit at Prestonwood Pregnancy Center?

Are you curious about what your first appointment at Prestonwood Pregnancy Center will include? Here is a quick overview.

First, you will check in at the front desk with our lovely receptionist. You will be asked to show your ID and fill out some paperwork about yourself. Afterward, you will take a seat and wait to be called back.

One of our staff members or volunteer client advocates will come and get you from the lobby and take you back to a room. Your client advocate will be there to support you throughout your appointment.

The center’s doctor requires that we do our own pregnancy test before we offer any other services. So even if you took a test (or multiple tests) at home, we will have you take one more at the center at no cost to you.

While our medical staff runs your test, your client advocate will ask you some questions to get to know you better and ensure your well-being. They are happy to help answer any questions you may have or address your concerns. They are also prepared to discuss the different options for your pregnancy and try to understand your specific needs. Although we do not perform or make referrals for the abortion procedure, we are committed to maintaining your confidentiality and safety should you ask any questions about abortion.

If your pregnancy test result is positive, you can schedule an appointment for a free ultrasound at the center. We will also provide you with documentation for proof of pregnancy in case you need to apply for Medicaid or CHIP Perinatal insurance.

While you are here, please let us know if you need any help or resources, such as childcare, housing, healthcare, or food. We will be happy to provide you with what you need or connect you with an organization that can help you. And your client advocate can provide you with information about the free life skills classes we offer, covering a variety of topics such as parenting and relationships.

If you think you may be pregnant and are looking for a safe and confidential clinic where you can confirm it, schedule a free appointment at Prestonwood Pregnancy Center today by calling (972) 428-4700 or visiting our website. And while scheduled appointments are preferred, we do welcome walk-ins as well.

Whether your pregnancy is planned or unexpected, Prestonwood Pregnancy Center is here to support you in your pregnancy decision and beyond.
