Pregnancy Symptoms and FAQ

How do you know if you’re really pregnant?

If you are sexually active, it is possible to become pregnant even if you are using contraception.

Early signs of pregnancy may include but not limited to:

  • Missed Period
  • Swollen/Tender Breasts
  • Fatigue/Tiredness
  • Nausea/Morning Sickness
  • Frequent Urination
  • Darkening of Nipples
  • Food Cravings or Food Aversions

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, please book an appointment as it is important to get an accurate pregnancy test and talk to someone about your situation.

How soon should I get a pregnancy test?

A pregnancy test works by identifying the HCG pregnancy hormone. If you’ve missed a period, it is best to wait one week before scheduling a pregnancy test for the most accurate results.

Can I trust the results of the pregnancy test at your center?

We use laboratory-quality pregnancy tests. The manufacturer of the tests claims a 99 percent accuracy rate.

My pregnancy test was negative—but I still don’t have my period. Should I have a second test?

Yes, make another appointment for a second free pregnancy test. The HCG hormone doubles every 2 – 3 days during early pregnancy and peaks at 8-11 weeks from first day of last period.

I’ve had two negative pregnancy tests—but no period. What should I do now?

See your health care provider for further testing. If you need a referral or help finding a provider, our staff can help.
