Prestonwood Pregnancy Center Classes

We have a wide range of classes that we offer here at Prestonwood Pregnancy Center including online classes, in person classes, men’s classes, as well as classes in español! 

In order to attend any of the classes, you must register using the calendar below.

  • Please choose the location in order to “open” the calendar
  • Click the day and time for the class
  • Choose the corresponding staff

Rewards Program

For every online class that you attend, you will earn 1 reward; in person classes earn 2 rewards.

If you want to earn double the rewards for a class, have another adult attend the class with you! You may only have one guest to earn double rewards and you must include their information in your registration. If you have already attended a specific class before, you will only receive rewards for the first time you attend.

Richardson On-site Class Schedule

Join us for a discussion about stimulating baby’s speech development from birth through toddlerhood and beyond. This is a fun topic and very important for your baby’s communication skills. We’ll also cover how certain medical issues can affect speech development and give you time to ask questions.

Learn how to set healthy boundaries and how to improve your relationships. These three classes collectively will teach you practical skills on how to communicate effectively, deal with expectations, anger and forgiveness.

When you think of self-care, what comes to mind? This is a session that will help you cultivate positive and personal enrichment tips while focusing on ways to maintain a self-care plan that suits your lifestyle.

This class features practical ideas and positive encouragement for parents of all ages. We discuss topics such as child development, discipline, communication, emotional health, nutrition, and finances. DINNER WILL BE PROVIDED

Thursdays: August 11th, September 8th

Time: 6:00pm-8:00pm

Come learn the reasons why having a Will is so very important for you and your family. There are key terms you should be aware of and understand. As a gift to you, if you attend and complete a Will questionnaire, the Foundation will draw up a FREE Will for you. Do not miss this opportunity!

There are rights, responsibilities, and rewards to being an active father. Men who do the right thing by acknowledging paternity gain great respect. Men, you will help form your child’s identity by being present in his or her life. In this session you will learn what that looks like and why it’s important.

In this session you will be guided into becoming dependable and responsible financially as parents. We will discuss how to pull resources together in reference to housing, expenses,  transportation, assistance and more.

Mom’s come enjoy this low impact movement class that will leave you feeling energized and strong! This class will help you; realign and strengthen muscles for delivery, ease the stress and strain on joints, release back tension during and after pregnancy.

This session promotes the importance of parents working together cooperatively to raise a child whether you’re still romantically involved or not. If your relationship is healthy, you both can do this as a team.

There are all kinds of relationships but how do you know what’s healthy and what’s not? In this session you will learn how to identify the red flags and what to do about them.

Self-esteem is our individual evaluation of how we view our own worth and value. Self-esteem encompasses beliefs about oneself as well as our emotional states such as triumph, despair, pride, and shame. In this session, we will learn strategies to protect, raise, and reinforce healthy self-esteem.

Learning and practicing the art of swaddling your baby will help aid in getting you more sleep. It will also help your baby feel more secure and comforted. This session will teach you how, why, and when to swaddle your baby.

What does it mean to have an attainable vision for you, your family and why is it important? Learn step by step how to set and accomplish those goals. This is a two-part class. Session 1 we will learn it! Session 2 we will do it! So, attend both to complete the course successfully.

This course offers financial tips that will allow you to create a basic workable budget that will make every cent count for you and your family.

Find answers to all your breastfeeding questions in this class while learning how easy it can be to successfully breastfeed your new baby.

Online Mondays: September 12th

Time: 2:00pm-3:30pm

This class is taught by a Certified National Child Passenger Safety Technician. CPS technicians keep up to date on the latest technical information about child passenger safety through seminars and other continuing education opportunities. This class will benefit those who have children of any age that want to ensure their child is kept safe, in case of an accident, by properly using child restraint systems and safety belts.

Online Wednesdays: August 24th, September 21st

What is music therapy? It’s a way that we can use music as a tool to reach health-related goals! This is taught by a board certified therapist and will teach you how music therapy can benefit you and your child during and after pregnancy and into your child’s developing years.

This class examines topics such as: skills, professional development, and career strategy. You will have the opportunity to assess your leadership traits and skills to improve quality performance in the workplace. For those serious about climbing the ladder of success, this course is for you.

To help learners understand how self-image impacts our daily life’s decisions and what it means to have a positive self-image. The session is interactive with self-reflection and writing exercises.

Online Saturdays: August 13th, September 10th

Time: 9:00am-10:00am

This class is designed to instill confidence in moms to cultivate a love of reading to their babies.

Moms can have conversations with their little ones without it feeling awkward and it also builds a strong parent child bond.

Men’s Online Class Schedule

This class is designed to help men who are preparing for fatherhood or stepping into the father-figure role. Topics include discipline, childhood development, communication, co-parenting, work/life balance and children’s emotions.

This class is specifically geared for new dads who want to step-up and be difference makers within their growing family. Participants will hear a wealth of wisdom and applicable truths that will help them become better men. You will be encouraged and challenged to grow yourself and to achieve the ‘dad difference’.

Dads do you have a little one on the way but you’re not quite sure where to start? Don’t fret! This class is designed to help you learn all the basics, layout the groundwork and prepare your growing family for success.

This class is designed to help first time fathers prepare and understand what to expect during pregnancy and when their baby arrives.

Quieres saber cómo puedes ayudar en el desarrollo del cerebro de tu bebé antes y después de su nacimiento? Si la respuesta es sí, esta clase es para ti. Conocerás las diferentes etapas del desarrollo del cerebro del bebé desde su concepción hasta sus primeros meses de vida. Aprendiendo cuando, porque y cómo evoluciona el cerebro de los bebés, estarás equipada con las herramientas y practicas necesarias que son tan importantes para garantizar el desarrollo saludable del cerebro de tu bebé.

Cosas que los padres deben saber sobre su bebé la primera semana en casa. Estar preparada para la llegada del nuevo miembro de la familia hara que todo lo que esto implica sea mucho mas facil. Si te quieres sentir confiada y prepara para cuando tu bebé llegue, esta clase es para ti.

¿Qué padre no ha querido un millón de veces que su bebé hable? ¿Cuánto tiempo, esfuerzo y frustración se ahorraría al poder entender lo que su bebé necesita en cada momento, o la razón de ese llanto desconsolado?

Si alguna vez se ha preguntado esto, en esta clase mostraremos la técnica del lenguaje de señas para comunicarse con su bebé antes de que él/ella pueda hablar.

Horario: 6:30pm-7:30pm

Esta clase es impartida por un Técnico en la Seguridad del Niño Pasajero. Los técnicos de CPS se mantienen actualizados con la información técnica más reciente sobre la seguridad de los niños pasajeros a través de seminarios y otras oportunidades de educación continua. Esta clase beneficiará a aquellos que tengan niños de cualquier edad que quieran asegurarse de que su hijo se mantenga seguro, en caso de accidente, mediante el uso adecuado de sistemas de retención infantil y cinturones de seguridad.

Hay mas de tres verdades a las que te vas a enfrentar cuando tengas a tu bebé en brazos, pero aqui tocaremos las tres verdades que son comunes en cada recien nacido. A pesar que cada familia y bebé es diferente, estos puntos no excluyen a ninguno de ellos.
