What Happens During an Appointment at Prestonwood Pregnancy Center?

Pregnancy Center Appointments

Pregnancy Center Appointments – You have questions and we have answers.  You may have found us by searching for abortions in Dallas, TX or free sonograms.   Whether your potential pregnancy is planned or unexpected, Prestonwood Pregnancy Center is here to walk with you through your decision process.  Although we do not perform or refer for the abortion procedure, everything that we do is safe and confidential, because we are centered on you.  All of our services are at no cost to you. Scheduled appointments are preferred, but you are welcome to walk-in.

  • “Oh my gosh, I missed my period!”
  • “Is the pregnancy test really positive?”
  • “What am I supposed to do now?”

You might be wondering, “What is a typical pregnancy center appointment?”

When you arrive you will be greeted by one of our friendly staff or volunteers.  They will ask for your ID and will have you complete some paperwork that lets us know a little bit more about you and your situation.  From this point on, a trained client advocate will be with you to guide you through your appointment.

All clients will have a pregnancy test.  Yes, you may have done one, two, or more at home, but our medical doctor requires us to do our own before any other medical services can be offered.

While a trained medical staff person is running your pregnancy test, your client advocate will talk with you one-on-one to understand your needs and concerns, provide support and educate you on your pregnancy options.  If the pregnancy test is positive, you will be scheduled for an ultrasound exam which in many cases can be performed during the same visit.  A Proof of Pregnancy can also be provided in case you need to apply for Medicaid or CHIP Perinatal insurance.

If you have other needs, we can refer to other community resources/partners that can help to provide assistance in areas such as housing, food or healthcare.

Finally, if appropriate, the client advocate will also provide you with information on our life skills classes we offer at no cost, such as parenting and relationships classes.

At Prestonwood Pregnancy Center we strive to be with you during your pregnancy decision and beyond.
