The God-Sized Story....

Southwest Pregnancy Services have been operating for 30 years and is just two miles from one of the largest Planned Parenthood surgical facilities in DFW.

With Southwest Dallas having one of the highest teen pregnancy rates in the country—and with the option to have an abortion so close—it’s vital to be there for women in crisis. But it has been increasingly difficult to meet the growing need. Southwest Pregnancy Center has been growing in clients but they have not had the funding, staff, or resources to meet the growing need.

Prestonwood Pregnancy Center has been able to market and offer services and education that have reached an incredible number of women. They also have cutting-edge technology like 3/4D ultrasounds… an app that asks their supporters to pray for abortion-minded women who are on site… and other great services to help women choose life-giving solutions for an unplanned pregnancy.

After much prayer and discussion with our board, we decided to ask Prestonwood Pregnancy Center if they’d adopt our center. By joining forces, we can not only continue offering services to women in Southwest Dallas, but also reach many more.

We’ll be called Prestonwood Pregnancy Center Southwest—and together we’ll be able to serve MANY more pregnant women in Southwest Dallas and offer them a broader range of support.

While there will be some changes, we’re not changing our heart. We’re still all about supporting women in crisis and helping them choose life for their babies. We’re still committed to sharing the Gospel with every client we serve and seeing God’s Kingdom expand in Southwest Dallas.

We need your support and, as you give, we ask that you pray! We’re expecting to face more spiritual opposition than we’ve ever experienced. So please pray against the attacks of the evil one—and for God to pour out His blessing and protection on this new center.

Give a gift today to help provide life-giving solutions to more women in Southwest Dallas.

Prestonwood Pregnancy Center (PPC)

For over 27 years across the Dallas – Fort Worth Metroplex, Prestonwood Pregnancy Center (PPC) has been a voice of hope for the unborn and love for the women carrying them.

With God’s help and the generous contributions from those who are devoted to standing firm with both the baby and mother, PPC has been able to help women find hope where they only saw disaster.

Starting with the first day the doors opened, PPC has served more than 68,000 women facing unplanned pregnancies. Every year thousands of women come to the center and receive compassionate care and godly counsel. Over 90% of those mothers have chosen life for their babies.

PPC operates on multiple fronts. Both a traditional brick and mortar location, as well as a mobile unit solution. PPC desires to offer hope whenever it is needed, so the center is open 6 days a week during normal business hours and offers late evening options on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

Statement of Faith

One God
We believe there is one God: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; who subsist in unity, and also as three separate distinct Persons (John 14:7–16; Genesis 1:1; 1:26–27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Isaiah 40:28–29; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14).

Jesus Christ, God’s Son
We believe Jesus Christ is God’s Son. He was born of a virgin as both God and man, lived a sinless life, died to atone for the sins of human beings, was buried, arose from the grave, ascended into heaven, and will literally return to earth (Matthew 1:22–23; Isaiah 9:6; 53:5–6; John 1:1–5; 14:10–30; Hebrews 4:14–15; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Romans 1:3–4; Acts 1:9–11; 1 Timothy 6:14–15; Titus 2:13).

The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is the divine helper, assistant, counselor and instructor and His work is to reveal Christ, convict of sin, lead to repentance, guide believers, comfort, strengthen, and sanctify the soul (2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7–13; 14:16–17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12; 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; 5:25; Galatians 5:25).

The Bible
We believe the Bible is God’s Holy Word, without error, and is the sole authority for life (Psalm 119:105; Romans 15:4; 2 Peter 1:20–21; 2 Timothy 3:16)

Created Man’s Need for God
We believe human beings are the special creations of God, made in His image. They fell through the sin of the first man, Adam, and all human beings are sinners in need of salvation (Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3–6; Isaiah 53:6; 59:1–2; Romans 3:23).

Salvation
We believe salvation is a gift through repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ. Every person who truly is saved is eternally secure in the Lord Jesus Christ and will spend eternity in heaven, while those who die in their sins will spend eternity in hell (Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8–9; John 14:6; 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1)

Evangelism

Baptism
We believe baptism is by immersion after salvation and is done in obedience to Jesus Christ’s command (Matthew 3:15–17; Acts 2:38)

Believer’s Access to God
We believe each believer has direct access to God through the Lord Jesus Christ (Hebrews 4:14–16; 7:19; Ephesians 3:12)

The Church
We believe the Church is a local body of baptized believers with the Lord Jesus Christ as the Head (Matthew 16:18; Acts 20:27–29; 1 Corinthians 12:27–29; Ephesians 1:21–23; 3:20–22; 4:1–3; 5:21–27; Colossians 1:17–19).

Sanctity of Life
We believe that human life begins at conception and human beings have been made to be in relationship with God, who created each person’s inmost being, knit together in the mother’s womb. As God’s individual, personal creation, each person is awesomely and wonderfully made. God has planned and ordained all the days of every person’s life—even before a single day began. (Genesis 1:27; Job 14:5; Job 31:15; Jeremiah 1:5; Psalm 139: 13-16; Psalm 127:3; Ephesians 2:10; 1 Corinthians 3: 16-17)

Marriage
We believe that God has ordained and created marriage to exist between one man and one woman, with absolute marital fidelity. We are committed to the home and family as set forth in the Scriptures.  God’s plan for human sexuality is to be expressed only within the context of marriage. It is our firm conviction that we uphold the dignity of each individual as we embrace the unchanging and longstanding principles of scriptural truth. (Genesis 1:27-28, Genesis 2:18-24, Matthew 19:4-9, Mark 10:5-9, Ephesians 5:31-33)

Questions:

What type of marketing strategy would you implement to reach more clients in Southwest Dallas?

PPC would employ the same marketing strategy that we have used at the Richardson location. It has been very successful and has contributed to the growth PPC has experienced.

The strategy is heavily focused online and includes SEO (Search Engine Optimization), Google Ads, targeted online ads, social media marketing and geo-fencing. We will increase our spending in this area to accommodate expanded reach.

In addition, we will network with the area clinics, hospitals, and doctors getting marketing collateral out into the community.

What would be your staffing plan for the first year and then following? What staff do you need on for a site to function well?

The long term answer to this question depends on several factors which include operating hours and number of client visits.

We are currently taking a survey of workload, current staffing, and job descriptions to identify immediate requirements. If there are additional staffing needs, a plan will be developed to address them. The center will be staffed to accommodate the incredible ministry that takes place every day.

It is expected that staff will need to be increased although some of the current workload will be alleviated as it is shifted to PPC Richardson (accounting, payroll, marketing, IT, some administration, and donor development).

Critical roles are Director, Nurse Sonographer, Client Service Assistant, and Receptionist/Data Entry.

Additionally, we would immediately supplement the staff with current PPC staff and volunteers.

What kind of education program do you use with your clients?

At PPC, we have worked on developing educational programming that addresses the core needs of our clients. We have an extensive offering… from Bible study and discipleship to parenting.

We utilize volunteers who are subject matter experts to teach workshops and classes. We are constantly evaluating the educational needs of our clients and adjusting as needed.

An example of our current class offering:

  • Linked In or Linked Out
  • In the Beginning (A workshop format class that covers different parenting topics)
  • Lactation
  • Embrace Grace
  • Engage Parenting

Like many Pregnancy Resource Centers, we use “diaper bucks” to incentivize attendance. We are planning to revamp the program to go to either an online tracking system or a punch card with various levels of “gifts” available to purchase.

What is your client services process for clients who visit your ministry sites?

Client services are handled by both staff and volunteers. This is an extensive and well-documented process from paperwork to decision guidance. We try to give away ministry to volunteers so a lot of the appointment process is handled by volunteer client advocates and volunteer nurses.

Our client advocates work closely with every mother, providing life-giving solutions so that they can experience an abundant and fulfilled life.

Pro-life in word and pro-love in action, these volunteers share the message of Christ’s love with these expectant mothers. As a result, many of our mother’s put their faith in Jesus!

Clients can schedule appointments and walk-in.

What programs or strategies are you considering for future growth?

Every year, PPC staff develops an Operational Plan for the following year that sets goals and develops strategies to achieve the goals. It is an opportunity to dream big and has been crucial in the growth that PPC has experienced.

This question deserves attention and planning but from a high-level:

  • Marketing, marketing, marketing
  • Location, location, location
  • Reviewing hours of operation and appointment scheduling
  • STD testing and treatment
  • Abortion pill reversal

What about volunteer training?

We have a full and extensive training program for our new volunteers along with ongoing training for existing volunteers. Training is crucial to the ministry.

Our new volunteer training includes shadowing, 16 hours of classroom instruction, skills check, and interview. The classroom time covers counselling skills, evangelism, adoption, STD testing and treatment, fetal development (using a live sonogram), talking about sexual integrity, HIPPA, client follow-up, abortion procedures and more. We use speakers from our medical doctors to ministry partners.

In addition, we hold an annual volunteer conference with a keynote speaker and breakout sessions.

To volunteer, please apply www.prestonwoodpregnancy.org/volunteer/app.

How does your team share the gospel in the ministry? Other spiritual services?

We are Gospel-centered at PPC. We train our volunteers and staff to look for an opportunity during the visit in which to introduce the Gospel to our clients. It is the belief of PPC, if the volunteer and staff member are watching and listening, that in every visit there will be an opening, after the client feels cared for during the visit.

We teach various evangelism methods allowing the volunteer and staff person to choose the one that they are most comfortable. We train on evangelism 2 times a year and in that training take a more in-depth look at various cultures that we encounter. One recent training was on how to share the Gospel with Muslims which included a basic understanding of Muslim beliefs and how to navigate them during the discussion.

How many clients would you project Southwest site reaching each year?

This is a complex question that is influenced by several factors:

  • Scheduling: Expanding the operating hours
  • Location of ministry
  •  Volunteer recruitment
  • Marketing

It is the intention that PPC will invest resources to help ensure the largest growth possible to have the greatest impact within the local communities.
