Some women don’t know they’ve had a miscarriage until it’s seen during an ultrasound. If you’ve miscarried, you’ll need to receive follow-up care from a doctor.

But is it safe? And does it hurt?
Ultrasound imaging is a safe and painless procedure that uses high-frequency sound waves or echoes instead of radiation to safely create images of the inside of the body.
Although a pregnancy test is the first indication that you’re pregnant, it’s not a medical diagnosis for pregnancy. It does not tell you how far along you might be or if the pregnancy is developing as expected.
