Free Things To Do With Your Kids

Great free things that you can do with your kids.  Get out of the house and explore what our city has to offer with this list of activities!

  1. Dallas Museum of Art

This is located in the Dallas Arts district and has an interactive kid’s area, and most days they are open 11:00am to 5:00pm. They also offer different exhibitions that change and update throughout the year so check out their website for current events!

 

  1. McKinney Avenue Trolley

This trolley has four different cards that take visitors around to explore Uptown Dallas for free. The trolley runs every day and stops at different popular destinations in Dallas. Use this trolley as a fun addition to get to a destination, or make a day out of it!

 

  1. Klyde Warren Park

This park is in the middle of downtown Dallas and is open all day! The park has a jungle gym and a splash pad that are roped off as a children’s area. They also have different games you can rent out for free such as putt-putt golf, ping pong, and Frisbee! The park has free concerts throughout the summer, so be sure to check their website before you go. They also have several food options including restaurants that are in walking distance, and food trucks line one side of the park if you would like to picnic outside.

 

  1. Trinity River Audubon Center

This center is free every THURSDAY. They have 5 miles of hiking trails and great sight-seeing for different bird species. They also have an indoor exhibit hall where you can see native animals such as frogs, lizards, turtles, and more. Trinity also has different stores that you can stop and shop in, even if it is just to get out of the heat!

 

  1. Prestonwood Baptist Church Indoor Playground

On rainy days, or days when you can’t stand the Texas heat any longer, this is a great indoor option! The three story playground is open to the public Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. and is a great place for your kids to get some exercise. Follow the signs in the parking areas to “Main Entrance” and the playground is located immediately to the right from the main doors.
